UA Students Art Display at Pawley Hall, Oakland University

On behalf of the PSA Office Oakland University, thank you for providing the student’s art work from Universal Academy. We received so many wonderful comments. We love to show off what the students are working on and just how talented they are!

PROGRAMMING OPPORTUNITY: Does your child want to learn computer programming/coding? SPONSORED BY FORD MOTOR CORPORATION

Ford Motor Corporation and Kidpreneur have a great opportunity for Detroit kids grades 5th-8th to learn coding/computer programming at the Ford Resource Engagement Center. The after school program is sponsored and funded by Ford and the deadline is Wednesday, Sept 30th. The coding class will meet Monday’s at 5PM-7PM at the Ford REC (2826 Bagley Street, Detroit, MI 48216) and goes from Oct 5th-Nov 30th. Students have to meet some requirements so please review the simple application and flier. Only 20 kids will be selected and they will be notified prior to the class start.

World Suicide Prevention Day

Join us For World Suicide Prevention Day!

September 10th 4:00pm-7:00pm at AIHFS [4880 Lawndale, Detroit, 48210]

We will be having BBQ, Traditional crafts, Visual Arts- pop up mural painting, Open Mic [special poetry sharing from Youth United & Awkward Theory will be performing!]. We will also be breaking down stigma through activities with Youth United. Use our Hashtags for the event #WSPD2015 and #HealingHelpers

Hope & Wellness Screenings will be offered- youth ages 10-24 get a $20 giftcard for participating. Under 18’s don’t forget to bring your parents to sign consents!
